Six years ago today I was getting ready for work. A news story flashed across the screen stating a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center. A horrible tragedy, I thought. Pilot error? Fog? How do you miss one of the largest buildings in the world? I pondered for just a bit, and then made my way to work. When I arrived my boss came running out to my car.
“Did you hear about the World Trade Center?” she asked. At which point I replied that I had heard about the plane that had accidentally hit the tower. She gave me a worried look, “No, there was a second one.”
At this point most Americans who had heard the news of the 2nd plane were arriving at one horrible conclusion: we were under attack.
Sadly, the close to 3,000 dead are just playthings for conspiracists. The lives of those lost on September 11th, 2001 are just a mind game. I have hope that some of them will realize their mistakes- that they will begin to place blame on those who are truly responsible.
Let us not forget who did this.
Let us not forget who died.
