I cannot help but post this video clip. Dawkins has really been an inspiration for me personally- and this clip from him really emphasizes why. Dawkins has taken a very strong approach in combating anti-reason and here he attacks conspiracy theories.
It’s this same type of thinking that struck me several years ago and started me on a full-scale quest to try and understand if there really is a middle ground between faith and reason- and if the two can co-exist peacefully. The more I listen to and read from hard-line scientists and philosophers like Dawkins and Sam Harris- the more I realize that we cannot possibly advance as human beings as long as we ignore the pseudo-science, faith, conspiracy theories, mysticism, and other nonsense and subsequently allow it to infect us unchallenged. The antidote is reason- it’s science and logic.
